Shirley Elizabeth "Gram" White (Ettinger), age 81, of Kennetcook, passed away at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on May 5, 2016. Born in Kennetcook on April 30, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Clara (Laffin) Ettinger. Shirley was a hard worker all her life, working at Cara Flight Kitchen and numerous other places. Known affectionately as "Gram", she loved to pick blueberries in her younger years, and enjoyed watching her favorite soaps and game shows. Shirley is survived by her sons, Roger (Anne) White, Farrell White (Donna Harvie), and Kendall Hill; daughter, Cheryl Armstrong; grandchildren, Melissa, Nathan, Matthew, Justin, Robbie, Wade, Adam, Morgan, and Derek; great-grandchildren (her angels), Madison and Michael; sisters, Jean Harvey and Anita McLellan; brothers, David (Nancy) Ettinger and Firth "Ted" (Anne) Ettinger; son-in-law, Yves Boisvert; many nieces and nephews, and her special nephew, Les. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her companion, Clayton Hill; daughter, Elizabeth Boisvert; son, Wade Hill; sister, Claire; brother, Ronald; and two brothers in infancy. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A graveside committal service will take place at the Kennetcook Cemetery at 1pm on Saturday, July 2, 2016, Rev. Angus R.
