LEGERE - Andrew David, age 50, of Newport. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Andrew on June 13, 2016 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. With his wife at his side, he lost his short battle with colon cancer, leaving us peacefully. Born in Parrsboro on January 12, 1966, Andrew was the son of Clara (Babineau) Blanchard and the late Frederick Legere. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his wife and kids; to quote Andrew, they are his world. He loved sitting around a fire or kitchen table with their friends or sitting on the deck with his wife in the evenings. Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Janine; daughter Emily and son Lucas, both at home; his mother, Clara Blanchard, Windsor; brothers, Stephen (Heather), Dartmouth; Tim (Marg), Three Mile Plains; and Danny (Maryanne), Centre Burlington; sisters, Karen (Alison) Caldwell, Brooklyn; Rosemary "Susie" (Rick) Northup, Newport Corner; and Linda Legere (Randy Graveline), Brooklyn; parents-in-law, Ernest and Catherine Mosher, Summerville; sister in-law, Chantel (Bill Thibault), Dartmouth; 12 nieces and nephews and 9 great-nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Frederick Legere, Andrew was predeceased by his grandparents Legere, his grandparents Babineau, and his stepfather, Joseph Blanchard. Thank you to the Palliative Care staff and Dr. Catherine Smith at HCH for their wonderful and loving care of Andrew. Cremation has taken place; visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14 from 7-9pm, with a memorial service on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 1pm, both at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating, followed by a reception at Centre Burlington Hall. Casual dress please. Private interment at Loyal Hill Cemetery at a later date.
