Carman Crowell Obituary

Crowell, Carman Newton Spence - age 81, Dykeland Lodge, formerly of Burlington, Hants County, passed away December 2, 2016 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on August 2, 1935 in Brooklyn, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Newton and Edna (Brown) Crowell. Carman was a long-haul trucker with many miles on the road. He enjoyed many friends made through his horse connections, camping, dances and bluegrass music. Carman is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Salter); children, Carolyn Pynch (Dan MacDonald), Judith (Rainer) Mitchell-Denzin, Eve Maxwell, Faye (B.J.) Crowell, and David Crowell; and stepchildren Malcolm Salter and Sharon Dill and families. He will be missed by grandchildren Adrienne and Andrew Pynch; Jason, Hollie, and Lawrence Lake; Sarah and Ryan Maxwell, Dustin and Clint Crowell; two great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and nieces and nephews. He also survived by sisters Laura Hicks and Sherry (John) Dexter, and brothers Norman and Leslie (Wendy) Crowell. Besides his parents, Carman was predeceased by son Rodd, brother Carl, sons-in-law Sterling Lake and Eldon Dill; granddaughter Erin Maxwell, and former wife Jean (Harvie) Crowell. Cremation has taken place, with a visitation and reception at the Centre Burlington Hall, Centre Burlington on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 2-4pm. Donations to the Centre Burlington Community Hall or charity of choice. Family flowers only; private family burial at a later date.
