THORNTON-HARVIE, Krista Lee, age 51, of Gormanville, passed away peacefully at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Born in Halifax on November 7, 1965, she was a daughter of the late Ron and Catherine "Sue" (Melanson) Thornton. Krista came to Hants County in Grade 8. She spent many years working in Halifax as a nanny for the family of Dan and Karen Flinn, then moved back to Hants County when she married. She was a wonderful decorator, homemaker, wife, and mother. Krista is survived by her husband, Tracey; son, William; sister, Nancy Kiley (Colin); grandmother, Dot Melanson; parents-in-law Noyce and Marsha Harvie; brother-in-law David Harvie (Charles Wedge), and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A graveside committal service will be held at Burntcoat Cemetery on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11am, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating, with a reception to follow in the Green Hall, North Noel Road.
