Obituary of Dorothy "Dottie" Bond

BOND - Dorothy Isabel "Dottie", age 82, of West Gore, passed away on February 23, 2017 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Scotch Village on March 13, 1934, she was a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Wilcox) Dearman. In her younger years, Dottie enjoyed racing stock cars; she was a loving mother who was devoted to her family. Dottie is survived by her daughters, Doreen (Gordon) Weir and Darlene Bond (Billy); sons, Russell (Theresa), Ross, and Robert (Mary); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie MacDougall and Minnie Singer; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dottie was predeceased by her husband, Albert Bond; companion, Gilbert Dimock; sisters, Gladys and Pearl; brother, Johnny; and grandson, Jason. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A graveside committal service will be held in West Gore Cemetery on Wednesday, March 1 at 2pm, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. The family wishes to thank the VON, paramedics, firefighters, and the nurses at CEHHC for their care and kindness.
