Obituary of Ethel Macumber

MACUMBER - Ethel Alma (Burgess), age 83, of Halifax, formerly of Bramber, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax on April 5, 2017. Born in Windsor on April 14, 1933, Ethel was well-known in her community as a kind and loving person, who was always willing to help others with a "Yes, Dear." She enjoyed music and spending time with friends, particularly her close friends Wade and Shirley Weatherbee. Ethel is survived by her aunt, Ruby Burgess; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ethel was predeceased by her first husband, Fenton Crossley; and second husband, Samuel "Sammy" Macumber. Cremation has taken place; visitation will be held from 1-2pm prior to a memorial service at 2pm on Monday, April 10, both at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Private interment at Bramber Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ethel may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, 2719 Gladstone St, Halifax, NS B3K 4W6; or Bramber Cemetery Fund c/o Mrs. Dawn Barkhouse, RR1 Walton, NS, B0N 2R0.
