Obituary of Linda Marlene MacPhee-Burton
MACPHEE-BURTON, Linda Marlene – age 68, of Upper Rawdon, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit 7A, VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born on May 31, 1949 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Willis and Gertrude (MacPhee) MacPhee. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved cat, Lucky. During her time working as a PCW, she touched many lives, and remained involved in her community until recently. Linda is survived by her son, Todd (Kelly) McPhee, Kennnetcook; daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Fleck, Halifax; grandchildren Ryan and Laura McPhee and Evan Fleck; brothers Lloyd (Dianne), Tatamagouche; Bernard, Upper Rawdon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne McPhee; second husband, John Burton; brother, Vaughan; and a brother in infancy. Gratitude to the home care workers and staff of the QEII Health Sciences Centre who assisted Linda in her final days. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request; a Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held on Sunday, January 14 from 1-3pm at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook. Private family interment, Kim Curlett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Upper Rawdon United Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Sarah Withrow, Centre Rawdon, NS B0N 2N0.
