Obituary of Elizabeth Adeline White

WHITE – Elizabeth Adeline “Betty”, age 85, of Noel Road, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2018 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with her loving family by her side. Born in Noel Road on June 3, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Prescott and Edith (Singer) White. Betty was employed with Scotia Nursing Home in Beaverbank for many years until she retired. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, camping, and going for drives in her little red car in earlier years. She also enjoyed attending community events, and was a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. A lifelong member of the St. James Presbyterian Church, Betty had a strong and lasting faith. She is survived by her children, Earlin (Frances Inkpen), Edward (Myrtis), Eleanor Caddell (Edson), Carolyn Miller (Gary), and Blaine (Tabatha); grandchildren, Jamie, Derrick, Terry, Ryan, Nicholas, Justin, Jonathan, and Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Jack, Zoe, Jade, Cole, and Tyler; brothers Perry and Jack; and sisters Madeline Spares and Aileen Fortune. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Earl; brothers Earlin, Max, and Wilfred; and sisters Isabelle, Arleen, Ethel, Adreu, and Iris. Cremation has taken place; visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10 from 2-4pm with a memorial service on Sunday, March 11 at 3pm, both at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. A reception following the service will be held at the Little White Hall, Noel Road. Private interment at St. James Presbyterian Cemetery, Noel Road. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time, and extend sincere appreciation to Dr. Iain MacNeil, VON Homecare, doctors and nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit and The Hospice Society at Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
