Obituary of Wanda Faye Tomlinson
TOMLINSON – Wanda Faye (Harvie), age 62, of Noel, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 25, 2018 at the Colchester East Hants Community Center, Truro, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Gormanville on November 30, 1955, she was the daughter of Estel Harvie and the late Angus White. Wanda’s favorite activity was spending time with her granddaughter Reese. She also loved spending time with her canine companion, Colby. Wanda worked for thirty years at Mount Saint Vincent University; after retiring, she volunteered many hours helping friends and neighbours wherever she saw a need. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. Wanda is survived by her loving daughter Tammy (Davey); the love of her life, granddaughter Reese; her sisters, Amelia (Lee), Brenda (Donnie), Edna (Mike), Gail, and Wendy; her brothers Walter and Michael (Dawn); several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Lynne, and the father of her daughter, Barry Tomlinson. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brother Gerry, parents-in-law, Arthur and Elizabeth Tomlinson; brothers-in-law, Norman Singer and Keith Kennedy; grandparents, Walter and Maude Harvie and Emerson and Mazie White, and several aunts and uncles. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request; a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at 2pm at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating, with a private family interment at North Noel Road Cemetery. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Green Hall, North Noel Road.
