Obituary of Marilyn Bernice Garber

GARBER. Marilyn Bernice (nee Coulson) of Cheverie, Nova Scotia was taken into the arms of God on May 11, 2018 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor at the age of 79.  Born in Simcoe, Ontario on December 20, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Grace (Fleming) Coulson. Marilyn was very active in her church and community and had a strong sense of family. She worked as a CNA, for the Dartmouth Mayor’s Office, and for the Coast Guard. Marilyn loved music, British mysteries and lots of laughter.  She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Bill Garber; her daughter, Sandy Covert (Jim) of Newcombville, N.S.; her two sons, David Garber of Riverview, New Brunswick and Karl Garber (Charline) of Moncton, New Brunswick; her sister, Dorothy Kitchen, and her brothers, Ed, Wray, Lyle, and Allan Coulson, all of Simcoe Ontario; grandchildren, Bradley, Robert and Tony Garber, Chris and Jennifer Harris, Stephen Freeman, Alyssia, Andrea and Nathan Garber; and great-grandchildren, Amaya, Italy Rose, Liam, Jonah, Naomi, Emily, Julia, Bradley, Owen, Isabelle, and Austen; and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Linda DeGraff (Kees); brother Doug Coulson; and grandchildren, Trevor Freeman and Amanda Freeman. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on June 2, 2018 at 2pm at Cheverie United Church, Rev. Judith Perry officiating, with a reception at Bramber New Horizons Center. Interment at a later date. Thank you to the nurses and staff at Hants Community Hospital for their care and kindness.
