Obituary of Larry Bruce Wilcox
WILCOX – Larry Bruce, age 67, of Windsor, passed away at home on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Born in Windsor on January 5, 1951 to Ethel and the late Charlie Wilcox, “The Boy” started his life “back at the old place” in Kempt. As the family grew, they moved to Cheverie, where he started school. In 1964, the family moved to Massachusetts, arriving on November 26 in the hustle and bustle of the American Thanksgiving, where 16 Wilcox family members sat down to a fest cooked by Aunt Gloria. Larry finished school and met the love of his life, Penny; they had two daughters, Pauline and Roberta. Although Larry spent most of his life working as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator in several New England states, he spent the last ten years here at home in Nova Scotia. His dry sense of humour was not wasted on anyone who knew him. Larry died the way he lived, on his own terms. Larry is loved by his children, Pauline and Roberta, granddaughters, Megan and Lilly, great-granddaughter, Marley; his mother, Ethel Wilcox; his sisters, Cindy, Sharon, and Heather; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Larry was predeceased by his wife, Penny; and sisters Hazel, Gail, and Crystal (in infancy). We are grateful for Dr. Nathan and thank her for her support and caring manner. Cremation has taken place with no visitation or service as per Larry’s request. Donations in memory of Larry may be made to the Psoriasis Society of Canada, PO Box 25015, Halifax, NS B3M 4H4. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville, ph-1-902-633-2431 or please visit our website at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book or send private condolences.
