MADDEN, Kurt Michael

Recently living in Onoway Alberta but born, raised and proud to be from Cheverie Nova Scotia.  He grew up on the Shore and always called the 215 home. Kurt passed away on May 21, 2019 just 4 days after his 42nd birthday. Kurt came into this world a little early and left it way too soon! Along the way he touched the lives of a great number of people and will be forever missed by all of them. Kurt was a thoughtful, caring person who showed unwavering compassion for others and had a heart of gold. His sense of humour was legendary, and he could connect with everyone he met, friends, family, even strangers. The room was always brighter when he entered, and he was sure to leave his mark. Kurt had a great love for music, especially old country songs, he would sing and play guitar for anyone that would listen or play it on the radio for all to hear. He played many sports when he was younger especially hockey, golf, broomball and softball. For him it was the opportunity to be with his friends, and that mattered more than any game he ever played in. Kurt was very proud to become a Journeyman Electrician, and greatly appreciated the help he got along the way, especially from David and Carol Baird who supported and loved him like their own. He is survived by his loving mother Susan Harvie Truro; wife Heather Baird; Truro, brother Troy (Vicki) Harvie; Falmouth; uncle Jackie (Angelina Medeiros) Harvie; Cheverie, aunt Kathy (Michael) Samson; Halifax; nephew Brady Harvie; niece Heidi Harvie; primary cousins Maggie (Cory Melvin and daughter Marley) Samson, Melanie (Shawn Brockley) Harvie and Sarah (son Mason) Harvie all of Halifax.  He will be survived by a countless number of dear friends that he considered family. Kurt loved his many feline companions and his fur babies were very special to him. Kurt was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Elsie Harvie.
