Obituary of Ewart Wiseman

Ewart Owen 'Hughie' Wiseman, 82, passed away April 28th 2013, with his family by his side in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, N.S. 1. Born on December 18th, 1930 in Heart's Delight, Newfoundland. He was the son of the late John and Bertha Wiseman. Hughie moved to Nova Scotia at the age of 20 and married the love of his life, Shirley (Dowe) from Amherst. He worked at the CNR, retiring after 35 years. The family lived in Sackville for 20 years moving to Rawdon in 1976. While in Sackville Hughie was heavily involved in Sackville Minor Baseball. He was also a member of the Sackville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, and spending time with his grandchildren. Saturdays included going to the card parties and sunny days were highlighted with Ewart and Shirley driving to Boutlier's Point. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Dowe) his five children, Gloria from Halifax, Hughie from West Gore, Gary from Brantford, Ontario, David (Heather) from Rawdon Gold Mines, and Steven (Harlene) from West Gore; grandchildren, Matthew Judson, Adonus, James, Matthew, Alex, Luke, Aulay, and Judson; great grandchildren Nicolai and Jocelyn, Bailey, and Colton; sisters, Marilyn (Kitch) Powers and Geraldine Wiseman and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Warren and sister, Viola Hann. Cremation has taken place, with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 4th, 2013 at 11:00 am in the West Gore Church of Christ, West Gore, Reverend Angus R MacDonald officiating. Private family internment in the West Gore Cemetery followed by a reception in the West Gore Fire Hall. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation.
