Burns, Barbara Jean

It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Barb, age 87, of The Mira, Truro, formerly of Kennetcook, on Friday, July 5, 2019 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born on April 15, 1932, in Georgefield, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Nora (Singer) Singer. She was a stay at home Mom, who enjoyed baking, quilting, seek-a-word puzzles and berry picking.

She is survived by son, Wayne (Wandalee); daughters, Sandra Wellwood, Becky (David) Neil, Sheila (Ricky) Campbell and Sherry Lake; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Gordon; sisters, Mary Billard and Lottie O’Leary and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Emerson, sons; Roger, Michael and a son in infancy, brothers; Harold, Albert, Rexford, Raymond and Wade, son in law; Sandy Wellwood. A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 9th at 2pm in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook , Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating with a private family burial in St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Upper Kennetcook. Donations in memory of Barb may be made to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society or Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
