Obituary of Susan McLellan
McLellan, Susan Darlene
It is with heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Susan McLellan, 58, of Bramber, Hants County. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her courageous battle with cancer ended at the VG Site, QEII on Friday September 13, 2019. Born in Tenecape, Hants County she was the daughter of Marjorie McLellan and the late Laurie McLellan. Susan was known for putting her family first. She loved the men in her life (her husband, son, and grandsons) and was devoted to them. She was a fixture on the shore, well loved by all who knew her, and appreciated for her quick wit and ability to tell it like it is. Susan prided herself on keeping a clean house, a well-kept lawn, an immaculate car (her beloved Ford Edge!) and having her work all done early enough to go to town and get home in time to have a hot meal on the table for Larry. She loved music, especially bluegrass and gospel, and was a good singer though only a few got to hear her. Susan was married to Larry, the love of her life, for over 38 years and they embodied what it meant to be true partners, doing everything together, side by side and hand in hand until the very end. She is survived by her mother, Marjorie McLellan; husband, Larry; son, Jason (Andrea); grandsons, Daynen, Brody, Camren; sisters, Mary (Graham) Wilson, Dorothy (Gary) McLellan, Connie (Jim) Michaelis; brother, Martell (Bonnie) McLellan; sisters-in-law, Barb (Donald) Wile, Doris (Eric) Taylor, Mandy McLellan; brothers-in-law, Mike (Shirley) McLellan, Ronnie (Amelia) McLellan, Wayne (Daphne) McLellan, Nelson MacAskill; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. She was predeceased by her father, Laurie McLellan; step-father, Percy Lake; mother and father-in-law, Margie and Marven Galley. No visitation at the request of the family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 2pm at the Kempt United Baptist Church, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating with reception to follow at the Bramber Hall. Family flowers only please. Monetary donations will be welcomed at the reception for fellow cancer patients in need who Susan and Larry knew on Floor 8A at the V.G.
