Harold Sanford Obituary

Harold Sherman Sanford-77, Centre Burlington, passed away on May 9, 2013 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Burlington on January 27, 1936, he was a son of the late Sherman and Avis (Brown) Sanford. Harold enjoyed every minute of his 28 years driving school bus transporting the kids to and from school. He was a heavy equipment operator in his spare time and always enjoyed teasing and joking around. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and "The Captain' will be flying his flag at half mask. He is survived by his wife Helena (McLellan), his children Diane (Clyde), Sandra (Ryan), Carolyn (Mike), Kevin (Barb), Tracey, Melody (Andy), Dana (Tim) and Colin, 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, sister Elaine (Laurie), sister in law Juanita Sanford and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a granddaughter Mary Ellen and brother Guy. Cremation has taken place with visitation Tuesday May 14 from 7-9 p.m. and a memorial service Wednesday at 2 p.m. both in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville. with interment in the Centre Burlington Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
