Shirley Tucker Obituary

Tucker, Shirley Kathleen, 76, Lower Burlington, Hants County, passed away May 20, 2013 in the Hants Community Hospital Windsor.



Born in Burlington on July 25, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Ross and Muriel (Sanford) Barkhouse.



Shirley was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother; . and her family meant the world to her.



She enjoyed many hobbies including doing the lexicon puzzle, watching curling on TV, going to dances and playing cards. She also was a great cook and liked to entertain; when you dropped in to visit you never left hungry.



She is survived by her husband of 59 years Ronald Tucker, Lower Burlington; three daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Banfield, Ellershouse; Trudy (Eric) Perkins, Mount Uniacke; Wendy Lewis, Dartmouth. Grandchildren, Loran, Michael & Steven; great grandchildren Baylie, Allison & Alexander; sisters Joan (Ted) Wilcox and Roxann (Paul) Lake of Falmouth. Besides her parents she is predeceased by one sister in infancy and Brother Danny.



Cremation has taken place with visitation Thursday May 23 from 7-9 p.m. and a memorial service Friday at 2 p.m. both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville. A private family burial in the Riverside Cemetery, New Cheverie Road. Donations can be made to the Palliative Care Program at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
