HENNIGAR, Gerald Oran-83 of Windsor Forks, passed away peacefully at the Hants Community Hospital on August 28, 2020. Born at home in Five Mile River on December 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Charles Oran and Nellie (McLellan) Hennigar. Ged taught welding at Hants Regional Vocational School, later known as Hants Community College, for 27 years. He enjoyed his career tremendously and made a difference in many students’ lives. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann (Scott) Hennigar , son Lawrence “Laurie” Gerald Hennigar, sisters Pauline Beattie and Myrna (LeRoy) Dingle; Cousin Marjorie Thompson and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ged is predeceased by brothers Nelson, Vernon, Blair and sisters Mavis, Hazel and Betty. A special thanks to the VON and the palliative care team at Hants Community Hospital for their care and kindness. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be a public graveside committal service celebrating Ged’s life on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 2pm in the St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Upper Kennetcook. N. S., Rev. Karen Lynch officiating. COVID-19 physical distancing guidelines must be followed, and it is recommended you wear a mask.
