Terfry, James Elmore – 86 of Windsor, formerly of Summerville passed away February 7th, 2021 in the QEII VG site. Born in Summerville on December 6th, 1934 he was the son of the late Charles and Leora (Ogilvie) Terfry. James was deeply involved in the Baptist Church and was a dedicated choir member and teller. He resided at Gladys Manning, Windsor for 30 years and was an active member of the tenant’s association, fire captain on the safety committee and involved in organizing social activities and events. James served in the Military for 25 years. He was an Electrical Engineer in the Air Force. He remained an active member of the Legion in Windsor, NS. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the palliative care nurses at the V.G, seventh floor and to Vivian Cox his homecare nurse. James is survived by daughters Robyn (Pat), Kim (Dennis), grandchildren Krista (Charles), Amber (Bobby), Leah, Brandon, Joshua, great grandchildren Mackenzie, Jackson, Ella, Alexander and Gracie, brothers Harold (Marg), Wayne (Ginny), Dick (Colleen). Besides his parents he is predeceased by brother Alton and son Thomas Terfry. A service (invitation only) will be held on February 13th, 2021 at 11am in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Covid-19 regulations will apply. Wearing a mask will be mandatory inside the premises, please confine to your social bubble. A burial will take place at a later date in the Loyal Hill Cemetery. Donations in memory of James can be made to the Kempt United Baptist Church, Summerville.
