Obituary of Doug Lake

Lake, Douglas Alfred – 67 of Cheverie passed away on April 2nd, 2021 in the QEII, Halifax. Born in Windsor on November 11th, 1953, he was the son of the late George and Stella (Brown) Lake.
Doug was a family man first, he was married to his wife Joanne for 46 years. He was an athlete in his younger years playing multiple sports such as golf, baseball and hockey. Doug had a green thumb for growing a variety of vegetables and plants in his greenhouse. He always had a Whitty and joking mannerism with all as he chewed on an ice cube.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to staff at the Dickson Centre, Dialyses Unit.
Doug is survived by sons; Kevin (Heidi), Denny (Lorraine), grandchildren; Emma (Trevor), Jenny and Laura, great-grandchildren; Piper, Drew, Chloe and Kayla, sisters Susan (Leslie) Clark, Donna (Brian) Levy, Betty (Garnet) Cox, brothers Garnet (Elaine) Lake, Randy (Jocelyn) Lake, John (Alda) Lake, Tim (Linda) Lake, Dan (Cathy) Lake, sister-in-law Laurie Stone, brother-in-law Mickey Brown, many nieces and nephews and of course his dog faithful Duke.
Besides his parents Doug is predeceased by his wife Joanne, brother Joe, sister Greta Brown and nephew Brian Brown.
Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation or service upon Doug’s request.
