Obituary of Arthur Millen

Millen, Arthur Cecil - 69 of Halifax formerly of West Gore passed away June 1st, 2021 at his home in Halifax. Born in Windsor on May 3rd, 1952 he was the son of the late Jack and Helen Millen. Art worked as a Case Worker with Family & Children’s Services, and had a long fulfilling career in Correctional Services. He also volunteered as a Camp Counsellor with the OPFA and will forever be remembered as a giving man who always put others before himself. He had a huge heart and was the first person to offer a helping hand. He loved finding new adventures and seeing what trouble he could get into with his good friends Roger and Mary. He is survived by his wife Grace, daughters Jennifer (JR) Beals, Jill (Jason) Hudgins and Tammy Elliott. Step-children Mary Atkinson and Amanda (Scott) Flynn. Grandchildren Tyrell (Taylor), Jalisa, Hannah, Dawson, Colton, Ryleigh, Lane, Landon, Justin, Grace and Lilly, great granddaughter Adleigh, brother Jim, sisters Margaret (John) Brown and Rose Weatherhead, foster parent Vic Miner, and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Besides his parents Art was predeceased by brothers George, Robert, sister Caroline, brothers-in-law Dub and Wayne, foster mother Helen Miner, and great granddaughter Sienna. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Art can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. An intimate graveside committal service will take place at the West Gore Cemetery for immediate family members on Sunday, June 6th, 2021, Rev. Angus R MacDonald officiating.
