Obituary of Judith Hein
Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Judith (Judy) Anne Hein, 80, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2021, at the QE2. She was born October 29, 1941, in Glasgow, Scotland to the late Walter and Sarah (McLellan) Pritchard.
Judy with her best friend and husband, Erik Hein of 50 blessed years, spent the greater part of their lives sailing in their back yard on St. Margaret’s Bay. This was their passion and greatest joy, especially with their daughter Sarah and dearest friends. Many summers were spent sailing on the Bras d’Or Lakes, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, all around the coast of NS and Maine. The only downfall to Judy being on the water all the time, was the feeling of guilt for all the weeds needing pulled in her exquisite gardens at home.
In 2009 Judy and Erik retired on their boat and sailed to the Bahama Islands, where they first met. It was cut short by the birth of their third grandchild and devotion to family, but they were happy to have shared that dream together.
Judith was an accomplished architect for over 55 years, and since retiring, has devoted her servant heart to her church and community. Her life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She truly had the most inspiring and generous soul.
Judith is survived by her husband Erik Hein, her daughter Sarah Hein, and her three grandchildren: Joshua Lamey, Kristina Lamey and Emma Hein. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.
Please join us celebrating her life at 10:00am on Friday, December 17, 2021, at St, Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, 18 Scholars Rd, Upper Tantallon.
