Cox, Ronnie Maxwell – 84 of Walton, passed away peacefully, after a battle with cancer on Sunday, February 13th, 2022, at the Hants Community Hospital, Unit 500 Windsor, Hants County, N.S. Born in Walton on April 28th, 1937, Ronnie was the son of the late Richard and Effie (Burgess) Cox of Walton, Hants Co.
Ronnie lived his entire life in Walton and enjoyed the beach, bass-fishing and clamming. He kept busy in his vegetables garden, mowing grass and getting his winter wood in the shed. Ronnie was Night-Watchman at the Baryte Mill in Walton, many years ago.
Ronnie loved his little dog “Bubba”, his long-time companion, with all his heart.
Ronnie is survived by wife Audrey (Lake) Cox, last remaining member of the family, sister Georgina MacLean, North Sydney, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ronnie is predeceased by brothers Donnie and Carl Cox, sisters Vesta Wheaton, Velma McCulloch, Avis Hazel and Madge Stithan.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Hants Community Hospital, Unit 500, for their loving care during this difficult time with Covid restrictions. Also special thanks to nephew Leo Cox, who Ronnie relied on and confided in, for his kindness and many needs, especially this last year since his sickness.
A funeral service for Ronnie will be held at J W Allen’s Funeral Home, Summerville on Thursday, April 28th, 2022 at 2 PM.
Burial will take place following the service at the Grace United Church Cemetery in Walton.
