Obituary of Nona Vincent

Vincent, Nona Marie - Nona Marie Vincent, 83, of Noel Shore, NS, formerly of Oromocto, NB, passed away surrounded by family on Monday August 26, 2013 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, Nova Scotia. Born in North Alton, NS on May 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Eva (Jones) McDonald. Nona worked a significant portion of her life beginning with Canada Packers and the Balcom and Chittick Drug Store in Kentville as a teenager. After marriage, she worked at F.W. Woolworths in Oromocto and K-mart in Fredericton while raising six children. Her true love was having children come to her home for her to babysit, many of whom still refer to her as Nanny. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Arthur Judson Vincent, and her six children, Linda Russell(Hayward), Kingston, NS, Brenda Billard (Gerald), Milford, NS, Donald Vincent (Roberta), Sydney, NS, Susan Travis (Scott), Lantz, NS, David Vincent (Virginia), Sundre, AB, and R. Michael Vincent (Laurie), Riverview, NB, and by 17 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, two sisters, Jean Killam (Don) and Joyce Spidle (Hugh) and a brother Richard Jones (Rose Mary). She was pre-deceased by her sisters Phyllis Hale (Al) and Geraldine Turbitt (Ralph). Visitation will be at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook, NS on Friday, August 30th from 7 to 9 pm The funeral will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, August 31st, at 2:00 PM.
