Gillie, Douglas “Doug” Edward – 73 of Halifax, passed away March 16th, 2022, at the Halifax infirmary. Born in Halifax on February 23rd, 1949, he was the son to the late Ralph and Gladys (Thorburn) Gillie. Doug was a loving and committed husband, father and grandad. He was a dedicated employee of Imperial Oil and Wilson’s Fuels as a Systems Manager for over 50 years. We are truly blessed to have had Doug in our lives, he will be dearly missed. Doug is survived by Wife Mary (Boutilier), very loved dog Callie, daughter Tamara, son Peter (Kim), grandson Leland, and granddaughter Kaitlynn. Besides his parents, Doug is predeceased by his loyal pal Dudley. There will be a public service held on Saturday, March 26th, at 2pm in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville. A reception will follow in the Summerville Fire Hall. Donations in memory of Doug can be made to the SPCA – novascotiaspca.ca The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all the kind words, support and love shown during this difficult time.
