Obituary of Erick Russell

Russell, Erick William – 70 of Noel Road, it is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Erick on May 25th, 2022, at home. Born in Maitland on October 21st, 1951, he was the son of the late George and Vera (Smart) Russell. Growing up Erick had a great love and passion for working on the farm. He was a mechanic by trade and could always be found tinkering around the house and yard or volunteering his time with the Kennetcook District Volunteer Fire Department, Little White Hall or wherever someone needed a helping hand. He would always greet you with a smile whether he knew you or not and if not, it didn’t take him long to strike up a friendly conversation. Erick is survived by brothers George and James “Jimmy”, sisters Cora Rhyndress, Karen Hughes and Nellie Watson, son Jody, grandsons Austin, Lucas and Maxx, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Erick is predeceased by wife Roma, a son in infancy and sister Emily Owen Erick will be deeply missed by niece Lisa, close friends; Wayne Greene and Steve White and all who knew him. There will be a graveside committal service held on Sunday, May 29th, 2022, at 2pm in the St. James Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rev. Mike Poworoznyk officiating. A reception will follow the service in The Little White Hall.
