Please share a memory of Susan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cochrane (Cunningham), Susan Elizabeth -72 of Sweets Corner, passed away peacefully in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor surrounded by her family on December 16, 2022.
Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Margaret (Evans) Cunningham.
After staying home to raise her family, Susan pursued a career as a PCW working entirely at the Windsor Elms for 20+ years which lead to her gaining lifelong friendships she treasured.

Survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Gary; Son Jason (Becky), Chad & Grayson; Daughters Andrea (Pete), Amelia & Eli; Carolyn (Brett), Brea; Laura (Trevor), and her furry companion, Jack. Also, cousins Ric (Laura) Evans; Peter (Debbie) Evans both of Ontario; friend of 70 years Barbara Hamilton, Ontario; along with many close friends and the Cochrane family who embraced her as one of their own.
Susan was predeceased by sister, Carol Cunningham (2021) and a brother at infancy.
We the family would like to thank Dr Cathryn Smith and the compassionate Staff on unit 200 at HCH, Dr Amanda MacDonald-Green and to her homecare workers.
At Susan’s request, there will be no funeral service or visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private burial will be at a later date in the St Croix Cemetery

My Mothers Garden
My Mother kept a garden.
A garden of the heart;
She planted all the good things,
That gave my life it’s start.
She turned me to the sunshine,
And encouraged me to dream:
Fostering and nurturing
The seeds of self-esteem.
And when the winds and rains came,
She protected me enough;
But not too much, she knew I’d need
To stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example,
Always taught me right from wrong;
Markers for my pathway
To last my whole life long.
I am my Mother’s garden,
I am her legacy.
And I hope today she feels the love,
Reflected back from me
