Corbin, Ernest “George” – 62 of Cambridge, Kings County passed away on February 15th, 2023, with family and friends by his side after a long and courageous battle with chronic pancreatitis. Born in Kentville on January 8th, 1961, he was the son of the late Ernest Corbin. In George’s final moments he expressed to his children and grandchildren how proud he was of them. George was an avid sports fan; he loved the Montreal Canadians and supported any Canadian baseball team. George shared his knowledge of baseball and love for youth; coaching kids from ages 5 to 19. He was a former member of both the Kentville and New Minas Fire Department also, the Kinsmen and Kentville Lion Club. George will be deeply missed by Family, friends and all who knew him. Familiar and wise words that George often quoted: “Time waits for no man, don’t wait for something to happen, make something happen for you.” George is survived by loving wife Anita (Van Tassell), daughter Amanda (Chris), stepchildren; Cory (Nicole), Desiree (Terrell), grandchildren; Payton, Riley, Felix, Eliza. A Celebration of Life in memory of George will be held in the Waterville Fire Hall on April 29, 2023, from 2 to 4pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the JW Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215 Summerville (Phone 902-633-2431).
