Obituary of Keith Hill

Lewis Keith Hill - 87, of Georgetown, Ont., passed away on November 27, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. He fought hard and never complained. Marilyn his loving companion of 42 years stood by his side the whole time as she honoured his wish to pass away at home. Marilyn was strong and brave and was always by his side with step-daughter Brenda and her husband Ron holding his hand until the end. For this the entire family is so grateful. Born in Moosebrook, N.S. on March 8, 1935, Keith was the son of the late Lawrence Stanley and Margaret Emily Viola (Mumford) Hill. He moved to Toronto in 1956 and made his home on the lakeshore in new Toronto, Mimico, and Long Branch where he raised his family. Keith was proud of his lifelong career as an AZ truck driver. He was a huge Toronto Blue Jays fan and avid card player and loved his country music. Keith enjoyed hearing a good joke and always had a great sense of humour. He will be missed by so many. Keith is survived by his loving companion of 42 years, Marilyn Rae; his daughter Linda Hill and her son, Logan Turner; his son, Lewis Keith Jr.; his daughter Kristen and her children, Ethan and Emily; his daughter Danielle (Jamie) and her daughter Amara; his stepchildren, Brenda (Ron) and their son Ryan; Sandra and her children Jesse, Jamie and Shauna; his siblings Ruby Munro and Vernon (Mae), and sister-in-law Rita Hill. Keith was very close to many of his nieces and nephews and loved to spend time with them all. Besides his parents, Keith was predeceased by his daughter Debbie Hill (April 20, 2010), brothers Gerald and Douglas Hill, and his wife Evelyn. The family will be spreading Keith's ashes on Saturday July 29, 2023 at 11am at the Tennecape Wharf where his daughter Debbie’s ashes were scattered in 2010. Following that, the family will inter the remaining ashes in the Moosebrook Cemetery with a reception to follow at the home of Rick and Lana Hill at 99 Walton Woods Road, Hants Co. Keith loved to listen to people playing guitars and singing country music. The family has asked his nephews, cousins, and friends to bring their instruments to give Keith a great send-off in his memory. Please bring your own lawn chairs to relax and enjoy your refreshments that will be served. Keith will surely be watching over us all.
