Sanford, Earl Gilbert – 89 of Kempt Shore, Hants County NS; We are sad to announce that on November 16, 2023, Earl passed away at the QE2 hospital, Halifax. Born in Centre Burlington, Hants County on December 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Reta (Crowell) Sanford. Dad loved his home and spending time with his beloved wife and family. He was a life member of Order of Eastern Star Laurel Chapter, Berwick. Dad started his working life with the DAR (Dominion Atlantic Railroad). He often said this was his favourite job. Dad worked at the Texaco Refinery in Dartmouth for over 25 years and later spent his retirement working with wife Elinor on their farm in Kempt Shore. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years Elinor (Brown) Sanford; his children Susan Suffron (David Mills), Cindy Sanford Hoy (Sandy), Michael Sanford (Debbie). Grandchildren; Shelley, Lexi, Cody (Ally), Steven, Allison. Great Grandchildren; Lily, Chase, Elliot. Sister Donna Brown and brother Laurie Sanford. Many cousins and nephews. Besides his parents, Dad is predeceased by brother-in-law Cyril Brown. Eastern Star will hold a service on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at 2pm followed by a Memorial Service in the Cheverie United Church with reception to follow at the Summerville Fire Hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Cheverie United Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the JW Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215 Summerville (Phone 902-633-2431).
