Lawrence, Elmer Harvey-83, Noel Road, passed away suddenly at home on Feb. 2, 2024. Born on November 20, 1940 in Noel Road, Elmer was a son of the late Clyde and Lalia (White) Harvey.

“Well sadly, we have lost another one of the good guys! We lost a brother, dad, uncle, cousin and friend; however, it was best said that our community, which has many, lost a legend!”

Elmer enjoyed this community for many years. Being an avid athlete with some great baseball teams, where lifetime friends were made with the Noel Road Braves. In his later years, he continued his passion for baseball attending little league games up the road at Findley Park. He also loved his Toronto Blue Jays. When he was done with his family visits that was his way out, “well I better get going I think my Blue Jays are on TV!”

Elmer enjoyed family and community gatherings: card tournaments, ball games, family reunions, Christmas with the family, you name it! Always a good excuse to have a drink and catch up with those that he loved, and those that loved him.

Elmer spent some time away from Noel Road but took pride in his property for many years. A property always well kept, just a cute little place. If you drove by and didn’t know who lived there, you were not a local.

He worked hard and was a true carpenter, something he was proud of. Working with many different companies, again, making true friends. He was also an independent carpenter for many years, he loved to build!

Asking you to take time and think about a good memory of Elmer, Ump, Umpire, The Silver Fox, Uncle Elmer! We assume there’s more names.

A couple great memories: he was never fond of shirts, he enjoyed a cold drink of rum, he loved his cat Lady, he had cool tricks with his half finger and the story of how it happened would always change! He enjoyed being with people and had a knack for showing up at the right time, usually with a bottle of Spumante. He loved his two sons Kendall and Ray, and he greatly loved his mom.

He was a dandy, kind, very special person, and meant so much to many as you did to him.

Elmer is survived by his son Kendall, his sisters Joyce (Eric) Northrup, Evelyn (Donny) Mackenzie, his brothers Frank and Avery, sisters Marqueita Singer, Belinda (Ronny) Macphee and Kathy (Bernie) Verge.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his son Ray, brothers Guy and Fred.
