Obituary of Debbie Faulkner

Please share a memory of Debbie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Ruth Faulkner age 73 of Hants County. She passed away at Hants Community Hospital on May 20th, 2024. Debbie passed after a long battle with chordoma cancer and the complications that came with it. Debbie was born January 20th, 1951, in Cambridge Hants County. She was the beloved daughter of the late Walter Lake and Eva Lake. She was the oldest of eight children (Priscilla, Lois, Eunice, Becky, Julie, Danney, and Tommy) and had a hand in raising each of them. Debbie met the love of her life, her husband John, at age 18 in a diner where he was the cook, and she was the waitress. They spent the next 54 years side by side raising their family and making memories. John and Debbie had several restaurants they ran together before Debbie began her career working at the Windsor Elms - she was there for 25 years. Debbie was incredibly kind and had a huge heart. She loved God and was a dedicated follower and a loyal parishioner of the Cambridge Assembly Hall. Debbie loved to bake and work in her flower beds. She loved spending time outside, especially with her pup Jack. She loved the beach, reading and puzzles but nothing brought her more joy than her family. Her favorite times were weekends when her children and grandchildren would all gather at her home. Debbie is survived by her devoted husband John, her son Cory (Michelle), her daughter Heather (Phil), her beloved grandchildren Jacob, Zoe and Gabrielle and extended family and cherished friends. A special thank you to Lois and Jodi for their support during these very difficult last few months. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible staff on unit 200 for your care and your compassion. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 1 to 2pm followed by a funeral service at 2pm, both in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. A private family burial in Highhead Cemetery to follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville, N.S. (phone 1-902-633-2431) or please visit our web site at allenfh.ca if you wish to sign the guest book or send private condolences.
