Gudger, Maude Marie – 70 of Tenecape, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at her home in Tenecape surrounded by her family. Born in Moose Brook NS on March 31, 1954, Maude was the daughter of the late Medford and Maude (Macumber) Laffin.

Mom was truly one of a kind. She worked at several different jobs over the years but found her true calling in her later years; saving every stray and wild animal that came her way, even an injured three-legged skunk.

Mom’s greatest joy was her cats, they were treated like children and will miss her dearly.

Mom preferred a simple lifestyle; she was very independent and kept a great sense of humor right to the end.

Marie is survived by children Shawn (Deanna), Carnita (Shane), Angela (Jay); grandchildren Kyle, Cody, Dylan, Nick and Ryan; greatgrandchildren Landon and Waylon; sister Shirley; brothers Duke and Billy; nieces Randi, Wanda and Darlene; nephews Fred and Chris.

Besides her parents, Marie is predeceased by husband Laurie; brother Ervin “Bus”; nephew Troy; nieces Tammy and Annette.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to VON, Palliative Care and special friends Tyler and Annabelle for helping honor Mom’s wish to pass at home.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 12pm in the Tenecape Cemetery, Rev. Mike Poworoznyk officiating. A Reception will follow in the Noel Fire Hall from 1 to 3pm.
