McCulloch, Elsie Mae age 81 of Stewiacke (formerly Kennetcook), NS. It is with heartfelt sadness the family announces the passing of Elsie on June 16, 2024, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. She was born on April 23, 1943, in East Gore, daughter to the late Elmer and Florence (MacHardie) Wood.

Elsie loved being a wife, mother and especially a grandmother to Cicely and Wyatt. She worked most of her life as a cook and baker, and was especially known for her homemade bread, rolls and sweets. Even In retirement, Elsie loved to read through her family recipes and many cookbooks collected over the years to prepare food for family and friends as a way to show her love. She will always be remembered for her love of music, her strength and laughter, and for her family gatherings around the kitchen table.

Elsie is survived by her son Greg and daughter-in-law Les, grandchildren Cicely and Wyatt, daughter Kim and son-in-law Ken Webb; older sisters Madge White and Dorothy McCulloch.

Besides her parents, Elsie is predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years Hollis Leroy McCulloch and her brother Elmer Royce Wood.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

Cremation has taken place and respecting Elsie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation.
