Lorena Marlene (Starratt) Blaxland, 68, Cambridge, Hants County.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lorena, who passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at home.

Born in Cambridge on March 21, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Avard and Frances (Lake) Starratt.

Lorena was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who adored her grandchildren. Lorena worked at two different farms, Norbert's and Rupert's in her younger years, and enjoyed her work. She made lots of friends while working and had many laughs and stories to tell. She married the love of her life Danny and raised their two children who she was very proud of, and thought the world of them. She didn’t stop there, as she also committed her life to raising two of her grandchildren, Nicole and Dustin, who both thought the world of Lorena as their Mom.

Lorena is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Danny Blaxland; her children, Amanda (Kris) and Keith (Jean); grandchildren, Nicole, Dustin, Keith, and Brayden; sister Leona (Skippy) O’Brien; brother Richard (Lisa) Starratt; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her furry dog “Piper” whom she loved dearly.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Phillip Starratt.

Thank you to the Walton and Summerville Fire Depts., paramedics, and the RC.M.P officers who helped in every way and did everything they could. Their kind of generosity was very much appreciated.

In keeping with Lorena’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service; a private family graveside service will be held at a later date
