Lloyd MacPhee Obituary

MacPhee, Lloyd Blair – 81, Passed away quietly at Colchester-East Hants Health Center on December 19, 2024.

Born in Nine Mile River, Hants County, He was the son of the late Willis and Gertrude MacPhee of Upper Rawdon. Lloyd was predeceased by brothers Vaughan, Bernard and sister Linda, brother in infancy.

Lloyd leaves behind, Dianne, loving wife of 61 years, Son Randy (Paula), Daughter Angie Singer (Jim), Grandchildren Andrew (Hailey), Jenna (Matt), Alex. Great Grandchildren Ethan and Emma.

Lloyd worked in construction for most of his life, he was a carpenter by trade. In his early years he enjoyed basketball and baseball. Hunting and snowmobiling were his passions. Lloyd always had a willingness to lend a hand as he built homes for his children. He always seemed to be the” go to guy” if you needed anything. Lloyd’s greatest joy was his family.

Once Lloyd retired, he and Dianne moved to their off-grid cottage on Warwick Mountain. Even though Lloyd finished his working career, there was still lots to do around the cottage and property, with many buildings and a family cottage to maintain. He always had a list of things to do, and he kept busy, since he couldn’t seem to stay still. Neighbors often came to him for building advice, help or to borrow tools or supplies. He was often considered the “hardware store” on the mountain.

Special thanks to the staff at Glen Haven Manor, The Magnolia Continuing Care Community and the Hospital staff at Colchester-East Hants Health Center.
