Obituary of Leroy Anthony
Please share a memory of Leroy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Leroy Delbert Anthony-74, North Noel Road passed away peacefully on Tuesday Dec. 10th 2013 in the East Hants Health Center Truro. He was a son of the late Delbert and Leola ( White) Anthony. Dad worked hard during his life and was a generous provider, expecting very little in return. Dad spent his younger years working in the woods with a power saw and a team of horses. Later he owned his own logging and trucking business, employing men in the community. Dad worked several years in construction, building road bridges, often having to be away from home. He was a man who loved being around "home " so he started a meat shop and enjoyed many years working at his home business. He enjoyed a good game of cards and never gave up a win in a game of checkers. We say our deepest heartfelt good bye to a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and a smile knowing the province is Liberal Red for dad today. " The backbone of our family" he will be dearly missed by his loving wife Evelyn of 50 years, his son Curtis (Julie grandchildren Amber and Chad ), daughter Brenda ( Rob) and grandsons Justin & Jonathan Campbell, brothers Paul ( Eleanor), Harold ( Kelly), sisters Helen ( Donnie) Teresa ( Russell), several Nieces and Nephews, and his beloved dog "Missy". He was predeceased by brother Gerry, sisters Grace, Alva, and brother in law Gordon Webb. Visitation will be held Friday December 13, 2013 from 7 to 8 pm and funeral will be held Saturday at 11am both in the J Wilson Allen Funeral Home Hwy 354 Kennetcook.
