Katherine Marie MacDonald, age 87, formerly of Walton, passed away on February 17, 2014 at Tideview Terrace, Digby. Born in Mink Cove on September 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Herado Gidney and Eva May (Dahlgren) Gidney. Marie is survived by her sons Joseph (Donna), North Carolina, Gary (Micki), Calgary, and Michael (Sandra), Ontario; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William "Bill" MacDonald, her brother Alan Gidney, and sisters Norma Dahlgren and Lila Mullen. Cremation has taken place with visitation Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 2-3pm, followed by a celebration of Marie's life at 3pm, both at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Tom Henderson officiating with a private family interment at St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery, Walton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
