Obituary of Emma Dalrymple

Dalrymple, Emma Marion, age 91, of East Gore, passed away on March 21, 2015 at Serenity Lodge, Enfield. Born in Upper Nine Mile River on June 1, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mabel (Barron) Roulston. Emma enjoyed quilting, knitting, and tending her flower gardens. She was involved in numerous community groups, and was a member of the UCW, Women's Institute, and the East Gore United Church. Emma is survived by her sons, Russell (Mary) and Robert (Sandy), both of East Gore; grandchildren, Kimberly (Matt Walker), Lower Sackville, and Jeffrey, East Gore; step-grandson, Cory (Angela) Marriott, Sackville; great-granddaughter Abbigail Walker; sisters Helen Miller, Truro, and Elsie (Jim) Bond, Upper Rawdon; and several nieces and nephews. Emma was predeceased by her husband, Ira; her daughter, Barbara; brother James Roulston; sisters Nettie and Mary; and brother-in-law Gordon Miller. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 7-9pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 25 at 2pm also at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Jennifer Powers and Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating, with a private family burial at the East Gore Cemetery. Following the service a reception will be held at the East Gore Community Hall. Donations in memory of Emma may be made to the East Gore Cemetery.
