My sincerest condolences to Carolyn and the rest of Blaine's family. I got to know Blaine and his humour along with his intriguing story telling skills back in the 80's when I worked for NS Tractors & Equipment Ltd. Years later I ran into Blaine and told him that I had finished restoring an old Cat D4 narrow gauge bulldozer. Blaine asked me what the serial number was and after telling him he excitedly exclaimed that it was the same bull dozer that his dad used to own and showed me a picture of him as a child standing on one of the tracks. He seemed so pleased to hear that the dozer is still around and running. Blaine even had a box of old NS Tractor invoices that his father had kept. I still have the bulldozer and keep it as an antique.

Caroline, a couple of hours after you texted me about Blaine's passing I stopped to take a rest from my walk. I saw a young deer trip out into the bright sunset. I thought of Blaine.
He will be with us in many ways going forward, Caroline. Sincere condolences to you and your family.

I first met Blaine when we had just moved here and I found him and his dog Jose standing in our mudroom. Jose was drooling on the floor and Blaine had a bag of yellow beans from his garden. It was the beginning of a long and very enjoyable friendship. Rob and I already miss his visits and chats. He was always there to help out and was always upbeat and optimistic. Our condolences to Carolyn and family.

The community of Cheverie will certainly miss Blaine always ready to lend a hand. He was such a hard worker and he never gave up, he fought cancer with a positive attitude even though you could see he was in pain. I certainly will miss his early morning visits to the Post Office, he came just about every day for the past 25 years that I have been here. It's his time to rest.
Rest in Peace and no more pain.

Sending our condolences to Blaine's family. I have many
fond memories of Blaine growing up, as he was a regular fixture at our house in Cheverie with my brother Kirk. I remember him scooping us hugh ice cream cones at the store which were double the size his parents scooped for only 10 cents . I'm sure his servings must have had an impact on the profits.
Hoping you can find some comfort in the stories shared by others.
Wishing you peace in the days to come.
Sincerely Gina (Crossley) and Kevin Spares

Condolences to Carolyn, Dennis, Ashley, and family. Blaine took me under his wing many years ago when I first went to the mechanical branch. We have been great friends ever since and still to this day. Still remember the first day I met Blaine. I never thought going to work would be that much fun but Blaine sure made it that way. We sure had a lot of laughs and adventures. I am going to miss our visits and phone calls. BA RIP old Buddy.

Gary will miss talking to Blane and his visits. We both will miss him bringing us the lovely vegetables. He was always friendly and cheerful. My Aunt Ada told me a story about Blane when he was a boy. His parents a cute baby picture contest in the store. My cousin, Carl's baby picture was there. Carl and Blane use to play together when my uncle would run Den's dozer. Blane was stuffing the ballot box with papers with Carl's name on them until Amy caught him. I thought that was so cute. Blane wanting his friend to win.
